How Much Material for a 7×6 Almirah or a 9×7 Sliding Wardrobe? The Full List
Short answer (estimates): a 7×6 ft almirah (7 ft high, 6 ft wide, 2 ft deep, 3 shutters) takes about 8 plywood sheets: four 18mm, two 12mm, two 6mm, plus one more 18mm for a 2 ft loft. A 9×7 ft sliding wardrobe (9 ft wide, 7 ft high, 3 sliding shutters) takes about 12 sheets: six to seven 18mm, three 12mm, two to three 6mm. Sliding shutters are big and only held at the top and bottom, so they need a flat, stable board: good 18mm plywood or HDHMR, laminate on both sides, and edge band all round. A wavy sliding shutter rubs on the track.
