Plywood for E-Rickshaw, Loader, Tempo and Van Floors: Grade, Thickness and Care
Short answer: a vehicle floor gets rain, washing, oil and heavy point loads, so use BWP or marine plywood: 18mm for loaders, tempos and pickups carrying heavy goods, 12mm for light delivery vans over a closely spaced frame. Seal every cut edge, paint or coat the underside, and bolt the board to the frame. An anti-skid (textured film) face helps where people walk on it.

Making it last
- Seal all cut edges and bolt holes; water gets in at the edges.
- Coat the underside (paint or bitumen coat), which takes road splash.
- Bolt through to the frame with washers; screws alone work loose with vibration.
- Anti-skid face or an aluminium chequer plate on top where people step or heavy loads slide.
- Replace early: a soft spot at the edge spreads; cut it out and patch with the same thickness.
